A month-by-month checklist to help in planning the event of your lifetime!
9+ Months before the wedding:
Set your wedding date!
Select your ceremony venue.
Select your reception venue.
Start a wedding file. This is a file or binder to keep all your wedding documents, contracts, ideas etc. Organization is key for less stress!
Create a wedding website. The Knot and WeddingWire are good resources for creating your personalized site.
Research wedding ideas. Begin browsing bridal blogs, magazines, and Harbour View’s Pinterest page for wedding style and color palette inspiration.
Hire a full service wedding planner if you plan to. Some brides choose to hire a planner because their schedule doesn’t allow enough time for planning.
Select your wedding party and request their participation in your special day.
Start shopping for a wedding gown. It’s never too early to find the perfect dress!
Start shopping for bridesmaids dresses. The colors of your bridesmaids dresses may influence many other color choices, such as your linens, flowers and such.
Send out your save-the-dates. Save-the-dates are great if you plan on inviting out-of-town guests.
Research, interview, and book the following vendors: Refer to the Harbour View Recommended Vendors list for suggestions for the following:
Photographer & Videographer

Finalize the guest list. Once finalized make sure to send the list to your Harbour View coordinator, as well as your catering company.
Shop for wedding stationery. There are alternatives to wedding invitations such as video invites or personalized wedding websites.
Choose your wedding favors. If you plan to order anything with personalization, check to see if they will be available and delivered before your special date. *You can always DIY your favors*
Arrange accommodations and transportation. Some guests (such as out-of-towners) may wish to stay at a nearby hotel after the festivities. Check out the Recommended Vendor List for nearby hotels and their services for your wedding day.
Begin preparations for your honeymoon. Consult with your travel agent and discuss possible honeymoon destinations and prices. Make arrangements early to catch the lowest airfares. Apply for or renew your passport if needed.
